TWO NEW YEARS SHOWS ANNOUNCED!!
NEW YEARS IN SAN FRANCISCO
We are happy to announce that we will be playing two special shows on December 30/31 at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco. We couldn't imagine a better place to ring in 2012 than our home away from home in the San Francsico Bay! Musical guests to be announced soon.
You can get tickets here
Brooklyn Bowl and The Met Cafe
We had two scandalously fun shows this summer in Brooklyn, NY and Providence, RI and we would like to thank all who came out to help make them so. It was seriously inspiring to play for you as an audience again and we look forward to meeting in the not so distant future-future.
9.27.11 Brad and Andrew release The Barr Brothers record
The Barr Brothers record out on Secret City Records.
Download The Barr Brothers record on Itunes
As many of you may know, we have been toting around homemade copies of our album "The Barr Brothers " for some time now. The songs on this album started out as experiments in our boiler room-turned studio in Montreal, where we were fortunate to enlist some of our close friends and musical allies to help bring the songs to life. Slowly, before our eyes, it grew into a record.
Well, as fate would have it, the folks at Secret City Records have decided that, after careful scrutiny, marketing analysis, and a series of tests in which no animals were harmed, it is within their creative interests to include us in their roster. We are pleased to announce that our self-titled debut album is now available in digital download vinyl and CD.
Coinciding with its release, we are adding several North American tour dates, with many more to come. Check in with us at TheBarrBrothers.com for updates and details and be sure to sign up on The Barr Brothers mailing list too.
See you soon,
Brad & Andrew Barr
THE SLIP RETURN TO JAPAN

We are excited to play in one of our favorite cities in the world and are looking forward to picking up some tasty Umeboshi plums! As the band packed up from their stellar two-night stand at The Independent in San Francisco a couple weeks back, one thing they decided not to put back into boxes and bring back east on airplanes was the last of that mysterious and coveted merchandise from the last run of shows. Instead, we handed it over to our online store accomplices who have been so good as to get it up on the world-wide interweb for us immediately. So for a limited time, anyone in the world can have access to the same amazing crap that only slip show attendees have been able to purchase for the last few months. Sometimes things just don't work out as planned. Surprise Me Mr. Davis Studio EP For Sale
Surprise Me Mr. Davis ventured into The Breakglass Studio in Montreal for a five-day recording blitzkrieg in early September. Taking a pure analog approach, the group tracked some of their favorite songs from the last couple years as well as a few new ones. The album is a supercharged electro-folk album with many a tender moment. Only in Montreal EP is a limited edition cd available now, which features five tracks from this recording session as well as a live version of the SMMD classic, "Fat King of Gods," and a bonus demo version of the new fav "Rise and Shine, Sleepyhead." For the unacquainted, Surprise Me Mr. Davis is the alter ego-trip consisting of The Slip with their good friend, songwriter and singer Nathan Moore. SMMD was born out of a perfectly timed blizzard in Boston that allowed The Slip and Nathan to record a studio album. Their first tour in 2004 was documented by a live release from Philadelphia.

Some visuals to accompany our new song "Chasing Rabbits". Maybe you've seen it already, but the song has been remixed. It's a version we did earlier this year while testing the limits of our home studio. More audio and video to come.
